I don't care for the Christmas turkey. But, Rodney Scott's spatchcock turkey is a game changer. Picked up the turkey on Dec 23. Warmed on Christmas Day. Moist, flavorful, and seasoned. I am a return customer for the turkey.

4-stars! Whole Hog is a nice establishment. A lot of BBQ joints in town tend to lean toward the "hole in the wall" vibe whereas Rodney Scott went a little bit more classy but still full-on bbq. Still eating with your hands, still licking your fingers clean, still smacking your food... but we doing it in a nicer facility. Understand? The service is A1! And it helps that the concept of ordering your food is simple; figure out what you want upon arrival. Sit down and wait a few minutes. Then getcha grub on. You need anything else, just let somebody know. Sometimes bad service is a function of complicated processes. This one ain't complicated. Then the food, the bbq is probably in the Top 7 for the city. My top bbq spots in ATL is a whole nother post, but I would say the meat preparation at Rodney's is solid. I had ribs and brisket. I enjoyed the ribs a little more than the brisket but both were absolutely edible to the end. Since I'm going gluten-free, I had collard greens and a "bag-o-skins" as my sides. Both of those went all the way! I may have even put some greens on the skins with a piece of brisket and ate it all at once (don't judge me). Rodney's spot is that one!!

Wow! My friend had been requesting bbq while visiting Atlanta and I found this place after reading a few articles. The bbq was amazing and they had true Southern Hospitality. We had the big family platter with 4 cuts of of meat and sides. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the mac and cheese and the potato salad. LOVED the ribs - flavored just right and with great juicy meat. The chicken and pork shoulder was also superb. Wish they would've had brisket and burnt ends, but they ran out so go early. Corn bread was also flavorful. The manager was so polite. He checked on us multiple times and wishes us well after we left Tampa for Hurricane Milton. Just great service. The staff member at the front brought us some white sauce even though it isn't on the table and was very hospitable. Fully recommend!

Highly recommend watching his NFLX special before coming here, or u won't appreciate the work it took to make it (Chef's Table: BBQ, episode 3). I was so surprised to find out Atl has a location! I was literally ready to drive to Charleston to try his whole hog BBQ. What a pleasant surprise to find out it's in town! Loved the whole hog plate w 2 sides. Mac n cheese and collard greens were on point. What a gem! Keep up your good work RS!

We're fans. We've made sure to eat at the one in Charleston every time we're there FOR YEARS. Happy to have one here. I forgot to take a pic of the 3 meat until we'd eaten half of it. Lol Brisket is AMAZING. Turkey is good. Sausage was okay. Not a fan of the peppers in it. If you like peppers, you will like this. Burnt ends are pork. Very good. Food took awhile so they gave us an extra skewer. Nice clean, restaurant. Good parking. We'll be back!

I recently returned to Rodney Scott's BBQ and realized I never left a review, so here it goes! The atmosphere at Rodney Scott BBQ is lovely - very modern and spacious. I have always received great customer service, even during pickup orders. I appreciate how generous they are with their sauces, although I wish they were labeled. I particularly enjoyed the white sauce and used it for the onion rings. The other sauces were hit or miss for me. The onion rings were huge and crispy, almost like eating Captain Crunch back in the day..my gums were irritated. I wish they had a smaller option available. The wings were flavorful, although some were a bit tough. I would get them again but just the 6 count. I was tired of chewing. The rib and brisket combo was really good, and I didn't feel the need for extra sauce. The cornbread was delicious. I wanted more but $4 for cornbread when I only wanted one was too much for me. The greens were fantastic. I could eat them all day every day. The mac n cheese was different but tasty. The potato salad had potato skins and they used red potatoes, which gave me pause, but after picking out the peels, it was good. The banana pudding was a hit for me. I liked that the cookies were crumbled on top instead of inside, preventing them from getting soggy. mind. Overall, my experiences at Rodney Scott BBQ have been positive. It's been my go to for bbq.

Really enjoyed my visit. My buddy has become a regular and really raved about this place. It lived up to the hype. I went with their signature, barbecue plate, and two sides, and the pork was super succulent. I also really enjoyed all the different barbecue sauces they had on the table. My hush puppies were amazing and so fluffy and delicious. And the collard greens are a must!
